Carbon Tracking Tools 5 pts

Global companies are not, collectively, doing nearly enough to reduce carbon emissions in order to meet science-based climate targets. Often, they’re not even meeting their own goals. Researchers at the University of Bristol spent a decade developing a tool to calculate the carbon footprint of streaming and other everyday internet uses, such as browsing news stories, to answer this question. The calculator uses the latest scientific protocols to measure emissions (i.e., lifecycle assessments) and data directly from the entertainment and media companies who rely on streaming delivery themselves, compared to the generic estimations of past studies.

The campaign's primary focus is to encourage small businesses to commit to net zero and will help them make that commitment through a series of educational events, content and expert advice on how they can address their impact on emissions and reduce our collective impact on the planet. Race to Zero - 10 pts

Race to Zero is a global campaign rallying non-state actors – including companies, cities, regions, financial, educational, and healthcare institutions – to take rigorous and immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer, net zero world.

Since June 2020, over 13,000 members have joined the campaign and are committed to the same overarching goal: reducing emissions across all scopes swiftly and fairly in line with the Paris Agreement, with transparent action plans and robust near-term targets.

All members must meet robust science-aligned criteria.

Baffled by the terms Scope 1, 2 and 3? Or are you clear on what they mean, but are now keen to understand how you can reduce your emissions?

Scope 3 is by far the more complex for the majority of organisations - because it goes beyond the realm of direct and indirect impact calculations, to consider both upstream and downstream impacts including emissions from suppliers throughout the entire product life-cycle and even end of life.
